Lindsay Buchel

Both previous authors published by Throwback Books have been fans of Lindsay Buchel's online journal for more than four years. It chronicles her life thru memorable occupations as a teenage mall security guard, an ear-piercer, a clerk and a call center voice for people who cannot speak. But it's not the interesting life that makes Buchel's works worth reading, it's the way it is written.

Lindsay currently lives, studies and works in Montreal, gathering anecdotes and bad human experiences to write about. She doesn't like it when the wind blows.

Jonathan Ludwig

Jonathan Ludwig's publication debut is entitled False Starts, Fragments and Falsehoods; a collection of twenty-four short stories ranging from three pages to seven words in length. All of these stories are lies or all of these stories are truths, either/or--- there is no middle ground in Jonathan's deceptively beautiful sentences.

Soft spoken, even when inebriated, Jonathan Ludwig covers his giggles with the back of his hand. A member of the '07 and '08 Bend Poetry Slam teams, he travels - when forced - the Pacific Northwest performing with perfect awkwardness on slam stages. Recently earning a BFA from Oregon State University, Jonathan Ludwig has a way with words you will love.

c.vance

Throwback Books is proud to have originated by publishing c.vance's compilation of poetry and short stories the alley flowers bloom for every drunk who pisses on them save for me. With a focus on the form words impose on the page, this 32 page chapbook is an exploration in style. Although its unique appearance makes it easy for some readers to toss this book aside, the deliberate use of space on each page to emphasize the overall content is a powerful trait in c.vance's writing.

His standard bio reads:

c.vance is a pizza delivery boy;
a title held despite his consumption and receding hairline.
he lives in rural Oregon with his dog and 72 typewriters.

But he is also the host of Bend's notorious poetry slam, the winner of various slams throughout the Pacific Northwest and the recipient of 99 rejection slips before his first acceptance.

His work has been featured in WordRiot, remark: a journal of damn fine poetry, The High Desert Journal, 400 Words, Vulcan and Zygote In My Coffee as well as being rampantly prolific on his LiveJournal.
